Geelong Korea collapsed without even trying to use Perth Heat.
Geelong lost 2-9 in the first leg of a doubleheader against the Perth Heat at the Perth Empire Ballpark on the 7th (Korean time).
Geelong’s lineup consisted of first baseman Kim Min-seok, center fielder Lee Jin-young, designated hitter Park Joo-hong, left fielder Oh Jang-han, right fielder Kwang-min Kwon, second baseman Kim Tae-yeon, catcher Kim Ki-yeon, shortstop Seo Ho-cheol, third baseman Kim Seo-jin, and starting pitcher Park Yun-cheol.
From the start, Perth Heat’s attack was fierce. At the end of the first inning, Park Yun-cheol allowed a big inning by giving up a walk, a walk, a wild throw, a triple, and a sacrifice fly. If it had not been for the disappointing defense of catcher Kim Ki-yeon and left fielder Oh Jang-han, the run could have been minimized.
In the second inning, 토토 Park Yun-cheol gave up one point with a double by the lead batter, followed by a true base and a sacrifice fly. In the bottom of the third inning, he gave up a solo home run to Junior Caminero, two subsequent hits and a hit ball, giving up two runs.
Perth’s sharp attack continued in the 4th inning. Park Yun-cheol conceded a run once again, giving up a double in a crisis on 1st and 3rd base. It was comforting to catch the runner on first base at home through relay play.
Starting pitcher Park Yun-cheol collapsed with 7 hits, 6 walks and 7 runs in 4 innings. In his Australian league debut on the 1st, a good pitching of 5 innings and 1 run was a colorless performance. The second pitcher, Lee Geun-hyeok, scored 2 runs in 2 innings including 1 home run.
In the beginning of the 7th inning, Kwon Kwang-min and Seo Ho-cheol’s doubles and the opponent’s third baseman’s error earned 2 points and avoided a scoreless defeat.
The batting line only allowed 6 hits and 2 runs. Perth starting pitcher Tyler Bairdsley gave up 9 strikeouts in 4 innings, and all batters except for five were struck out, showing helplessness.
Meanwhile, after a while, Geelong Korea will play the 2nd game of the double header against the Perth Heat. The starting pitcher for Geelong in the second game is Kim Jin-wook.
