Yongin Samsung Life began offseason training on the 15th, with new signings Bang Boram and Yoon Ye-bin joining the team after suffering injuries last season. The offseason preparation started in May and will continue until October. During the rather long offseason, Samsung Life is looking for ways to make training more enjoyable and efficient. One of them is underwater training.
On the 29th, Samsung Life held an aquatic training session at the Samsung Training Center (STC). Water training reduces stress on the joints 스포츠토토 while increasing muscle strength and improving cardiorespiratory endurance. The core is also strengthened.
Kim Min-gyu, a trainer at Samsung Life Insurance, said, “Aquatic training involves resistance exercises such as walking, jumping, and kicking in the water, as well as swimming to develop cardiorespiratory endurance. We also hold swimming competitions and water polo games that mix fun and competition.”
There was a lot of laughter during the aquatic training. On the court, they take themselves very seriously, but once in the water, their faces lighten up. The atmosphere was jovial, full of laughter and playfulness. The water training was not only functional, but it was also a great way to freshen up the team.
When asked if any of the players were afraid of the water, he replied, “Players who can’t swim wear buoyancy belts, which are auxiliary equipment. Especially (Jo) Soo-ah and (Shin) Isle are scared. Jo Soo-ah tends to be scared a lot, so we make her wear two buoyancy belts.”
Kim Dan-bi and Kang Yoo-rim are good at water polo.
Trainer Kim Min-gyu explains, “In the early stages of swimming, they hold onto a kick board (a swimming aid) and use only the power of their legs. Their speeds are similar at this point. Most of them are good at it. In water polo, (Kim) Dan-bi and (Kang) Yurim-yi are good at it. Yoo Rim-yi had the most fun. (Bang) Boram, from Woori Bank, was surprised that it was new. They seemed very satisfied.”
