Yuna Kim has won the sixth stop of the MC Square-Gunsan CC Dream Tour, the second tier of the Korean Ladies Professional Golf Association (KLPGA), with a total prize fund of 100 million won.
Yoo posted a three-round total of 16-under-par 200 on the final day of the tournament at Gunsan Country Club (Par 72, 6,400 yards) 안전놀이터 in Jeonbuk, South Korea.
After playing a playoff with Lee Sun-young, Yoo birdied the fourth extension to win her first professional title. She earned 15 million won in prize money.
Yoo, who played soccer until she was in the lower grades of elementary school, made her regular tour debut last year but finished 98th on the money list, so she is playing on the second tour this year.
“My goal was to win the Dream Tour and return to the regular tour before the season started,” said Yuna. “I’m going to work on my technique and try to win one more title in the second half of the season and become the Dream Tour money winner.”
The season’s prize money leader is Lee Sun-young, who was runner-up in this event, with $21.2 million, while Yoo is second with $10.96 million.
