Betts (Los Angeles Dodgers) has set a prerequisite for his participation in the All-Star Game Home Run Derby.

In the American League (AL), catcher Adley Rutherford (Baltimore-46,496 votes), first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (Toronto-54,596 votes), second baseman Marcus Semien (Texas-707,712 votes), and third baseman Matt Chapman (Toronto-47,522 votes), shortstop Beau Bissett (Toronto – 775,221 votes), designated hitter Shohei Ohtani (Los Angeles Angels – 924,182 votes), outfielders Aaron Judge (New York Yankees – 849,365 votes), Mike Trout (Angels – 598,918 votes) and Jordan Alvarez (Houston – 571,986 votes).

In the first round of fan voting for the All-Star Game, which closes on March 23, the top vote-getters in both leagues will automatically start at their respective positions. The top two vote-getters at each position (six outfielders) will then be selected in a second round of voting. The second round of voting will be open for four days, starting on July 27.
